A group of people from Prodigy's(R) Sailor Moon Fan Club have created
a piece of fan-fiction of their own!  The way it works is like this:
Members of the club log on and add on to what other users have already
written.  Each writer makes the story in his/her own style, making for
a very interesting piece of Fan-Fiction.  If it someone thinks it can
happen, it will probably find its way into our story.  It began in
October of '95, and it's still going.  It may not end for a long time...

*** Sailor Moon CS #57 - Serena's Flying Lesson ***
***************************************************

  A pillar of light in the center of the portal room faded, leaving only its
two passengers:  Hermes and Serena.  Serena's eyes were still blinded by the
portal's light.
  A woman came running into the room, screaming madly at Hermes.  Serena
couldn't see who it was.  "Hermes!  So this is where you ran off to!"
  "I'm sorry, my lady," Hermes said.
  "Well, did you succeed?!" the woman asked.
  "No, I wasn't able to get them to come back."
  "Why not?"
  "They're having a personal problem of some kind.  They refused to come
back together.  In fact, they refused to come back at all."
  "This is terrible," the woman said.  "Artemis is making a move towards the
temple!  We've got to stop her, but without Selene our chances won't be too
great."
  "We must gather the other three goddesses," Hermes said.  "Surely they
will help!"
  "They would never get here in time," the woman said.
  "The people here will try to hold off Artemis for as long as they can,"
Hermes said.  "We've got to try!"
  "Good!" Hermes said.  "I will go to the West palace, and get Luna.
Orpheus and Eurydice will fetch Phoebe from the East palace.  And you, my
lady, will go with Serena to get Diana from the North palace."
  "Alright, it's settled then--Wait!  Did you say Serena?" the woman said.
  "Er, yes, my lady," Hermes said.  He took a step to the left, revealing a
young girl, rubbing her eyes.

  Serena's eyes finally recovered from the blinding light of the pillar.
She opened them wide.  The first thing she saw was a face like her own.
  At first she thought she was looking into a mirror, but her reflection
seemed taller, and older.  She blinked her eyes, and took a look at the face
again.  Serena saw that it was another woman.  A tear slid down the woman's
cheek.
  "Serena?  Is that my little princess?" the woman asked.
  The lady was, in fact, Queen Serenity.
  "Mother?!" Serena asked.  Serena ran to her old mother, and hugged her
tightly.  This was their first actual, true-to-life reunion after one
thousand years of separation.
  Hermes watched silently, with a solemn look on his face.  He shook his
head, realizing that they had no time to waste.
  "Ladies!  We must be on our way."
  Hermes escorted Queen Serenity and Serena out of Selene's temple, and
began his own journey west.  Serenity and Serena stood at the foot of the
temple.
  "How far away is this 'North Palace'?" Serena asked.
  "Too far to walk," Serenity said.  "So, it's a good think we'll be taking
the air route."
  "Excuse me?" Serena said.  "Did you say, 'air route'?"
  "Ooops!" Serenity said.  "I forgot, you can't fly.  Well then, I'll have
to teach you.  And fast."
  "Me?  Fly?"
  Serenity giggled.  "We mustn't waste time!  Follow me!"

  Rei had stopped to pick up some help for her trip around town.  Rei, Ami,
Lita, and Mina found Selene walking through the park.  They tried to stop
her.
  "Selene!" they yelled. "Please, come with us!"
  "Leave me alone!" Selene ordered, firing a shining white ball of mystic
energy at the four girls.  The girls jumped out of the way, and the power
ball decimated one of the trees behind them.
  "Wait!" the girls pleaded.  Another tree bit the dust.
  "I think we need a plan," Rei said.

  Midnight was flying through the sky, when all of a sudden, a portal
appeared out of nowhere.  She didn't have time to swerve out of the way,
so she ended up zipping straight through the portal.  After coming out
the other end, she slammed into something, and fell unconscious.
  She woke up a few minutes later, with three figures staring down at
her.  One was Serena, the other was Serenity, and the third was a
cheetahmorph...

  Darien and Danny were running one way, and just then a black Grand-Am fell
out of a portal, and onto the street.
  "What in the hell?" exclaimed Darien.
  "I know that car!" said Danny.
  "Hey, uh Danny, is that you?" said Frank, Danny's friend from Maryland.
  "Yeah it's me.  How in the world you get -=here=-?"
  "Well, you left some equipment over at my house, and as I was getting into
my car I stepped on it and and got blown through this wormhole and fell
here," said Frank
  "Really?" said Darien.
  "Really," said Frank.
  "This is peachy keen and stuff but we have a ticked off goddess destroying
Tokyo!" exclaimed Danny.
  "Wow, I get to try out my axe!" Frank said.
  "An -=axe=-?" said Darien.
  "Look!"  Frank brandished a black axe out of the back of his car with the
insignia "Dinosaur Battle Attack Force ZyuRanger" on it.
  "I'll be back!" said Frank.  He went flying down the road and did a 360
into a parking space, jumped out of the car, and popped on a pair of shades
and gripped his axe.
  "Is he some sorta...," said Darien
  "He gets into the moment.  Besides, he could help a lot!" said Danny.
  "Ready to rock?" said Frank.
  "Uh, before you go trying to bust up people, this is Darien, my friend.
-=Don't=- get to close to him.  Darien, this is my friend, Frank."
  "One question.  Frank, where'd you get that AXE?  It looks familiar."
Darien asked.
  "Built it outta stuff we got from Danny's mom's company, it's an -=exact=-
replica of the Black ZyuRangers Axe," said Frank.
  "He's into that sorta thing," said Danny.
  "And Danny-boy?  How'd you get here?" said Frank.
  "Um, hehe, I used the timer, and broke it again, hehe," said Danny.

  "Mother?" Midnight asked the third figure standing above her.
  "Moonlight," Serenity said, "Take her back to the temple.  She may be able
to help fend off Artemis."  The old cheetahmorph nodded, and took her
unconscious daughter back into Selene's temple.
  Then, Serenity and Serena began their flying lesson.
  "Now, Serena," Serenity said.  "You must first promise not to tell anyone,
except your future children, how to fly.  It is a family secret, passed down
from mother to child for three generations.  You are the fourth."
  "I understand," Serena said.
  "Good," Serenity said.  "Now, close your eyes."  Serena shut her eyelids
tight.  "Feel the world around you.  Can you feel the life energy all
around?"  Serena stood silent for a while, but then nodded in affirmation.
"Let the energy flow around you, and try to absorb it with your legs and
feet."
  Serena concentrated as hard as she could.  A peculiar white glow appeared
at her feet.  Serenity's eyes grew wide.
  "Excellent, Serena.  Now, rest your feet.  They are struggling to cling to
the ground.  You must relax your feet, make them feel free of all strain.
Let your knees buckle."
  Serena's knees bent slightly.  It seemed that the white glow was now
holding her up.  "Now, move forward.  Don't use your feet.  Instead, use
your head."
  Serena leaned forward, and fell down.
  "No, no, no!" Serenity sighed.  "Open your eyes, and watch me."
  Serena watched her mother.  It didn't take as long for Serenity to move as
it did Serena.  In seconds, a white glow of energy carried her into the air.
Serenity soared up and down, left and right.  "Now," she called out, "Try
again."
  Serena closed her eyes, and let the energy fill her feet.  She leaned
forward, letting her head guide her way.
  She didn't fall down this time.  She was lying in the air, with her head
slightly elevated above her feet.  "Yes!!! I'm flying!" Serena cheered.
  "No, you're floating," Serenity said.  "Now, come here."
  Serena leaned forward again, but this time she spun upside-down.  "No,
that's not it," Serenity said, shaking her head.
  "Well, how about this?" Serena said, flapping her arms.
  "Try moving your feet now," Serenity said.
  Serena kicked forward with her left foot.  She moved foward, and slightly
to the right.  Then, she kicked with her right foot, and moved slightly to
the left.
  "Hey, this is just like skating!" Serena said.  She got herself upright,
and began soaring in the air.  The white glow of energy carried her body
through the sky.
  "Bravo," Serenity said.  "You've passed your first lesson."
  "First?  How many are there?" Serena said.
  "Just two.  Or maybe three," Serenity replied.  "Now, let's get to Diana's
palace before it's too late!"
  Serenity and Serenity air-skated their way north.
  "This is great!!!" Serena said.  "At least I won't be tripping over things
up here!"  She kicked with her left leg, and accidentally hit her right leg.
She began spinning through the air.

  Five trees had been destroyed by Selene.  So far, Ami, Rei, Lita, and Mina
had managed to dodge all five energy balls.
  "Go away!" Selene cried, disintegrating another tree.
  "Okay, okay!" Rei said.  Selene sighed, and walked away.  The four girls
ran up behind her, and tried to tackle her.
  Selene growled, and let out a spherical wave of energy.  The four girls
were sent flying through the air.  Fortunately, they landed in some bushes
  "I wonder how Nike, Danny, Darien, and Kyle are doing," Ami said.

(MIDNIGHT WAKES UP TO SEE HER MOTHER.) (M) MOTHER? (QM) YES
MY DAUGHTER. (M) MOMMY!! (MIDNIGHT HUGS MOONLIGHT CRYING.)
(M) I MISSED YOU SO MUCH!!

  A winged goddess descended upon Darien, Danny, and Frank's location.
  "Hey, Nicky!" Danny said.
  "Call me 'Nike'," Nike said.
  "Whatever," Danny said.  "So, you were the goddess of..."
  "Victory," Nike said.
  "Well then, lead us to victory."
  "How am I supposed to do that?"
  "Sheesh, what a poor excuse for an immortal."
  "Hey, calm down you two," Darien said.  "We'll get this mess sorted out."
  Kyle descended from the air, and landed on the ground.  "I can't see him
anywhere."
  "Where could that Endymion be?!" Darien said.  "I guess we'll just have to
keep on looking until we find him."
  "And then what?" Danny asked.
  "We'll figure that out once we get there," Darien said.
  The four of them resumed their search for the angry Darien look-alike
named Endymion.

  "Stop, Selene!" Ami said.  "We won't bother you anymore."
  "I don't believe you," Selene said, firing another energy ball at the four
girls.
  Ami, Rei, Lita, and Mina jumped behind another tree, and watched as its
molecules were disintegrated by Selene's energy ball.
  "Let's just get outta here before she destroys the entire park," Rei
said.  "We'll figure out something later."
  "Agreed," the other three girls said.  They turned around, and ran as fast
as they could.  Selene took off in the opposite direction.
  "Hey, she's not following us!" Lita said.  The four of them turned their
heads and looked at Selene walkng away.  They didn't see the four people in
their path.  Once again, a collision occurred.  Ami, Rei, Lita, Mina, Nike,
Kyle, Darien, and Danny fell to the ground.
  "Forget this!  Walking is infinitely overrated," Nike muttered, still
seething somewhat from Danny's remark about begin 'a poor excuse for an
immortal.'   She spread out her wings, and took off.
  "Where's she going?" Darien asked.
  "I don't know, but I hope she has better luck than we did." Ami said.

  Nike was starting to forget about what she was supposed to be doing.  She
hadn't been able to fly for almost fifteen years.  The sight of Endymion on
the street jerked her back into reality.  She landed lightly in front of
him, her wings spread out from her shoulders (mostly because she knew they
looked really impressive like that).
  "Freeze Endymion!" she commanded.
  "Nike!  How did you get....oh, you were hiding out as that human girl in
the park.  What do you want?" Endymion said.
  "Take a guess.  You know you have to go back to the Silver Necropolis.
Actually, come to think of it...we only need Selene back, what would a silly
human be able to do against Artemis?" she said, appearing to talk to
herself.  Endymion looked very offended.  Good.
  "After all, you aren't even a real 'hero,' and we've got some of those
around too, and they probably wouldn't be any help either.  What good would
Selene's little paramour be?" she mused, turning away from him.
  That last line was too much.  Endymion was positively boiling.  "Why you
pretentious immortal witch!" he shouted, lunging for Nike.  She spun around,
catching him from behind.
  "Did I mention ego-maniac?" Nike asked, holding the struggling Endymion
tightly, but being careful not to squish him.
  "Argh!  Let me GO!" he shouted at her.
  "Not a chance.  You seem entirely incapable of handling this yourself,"
she said.
  "I will defeat you Nike!" he shouted, but didn't sound too sure of
himself.
  "Endymion?  Perhaps you'd like to re-think that statement?  You're welcome
to try...but how do you expect to defeat Victory?" she said, smirking
somewhat.  "Close your eyes."
  She took off, and caught up with Darien and the rest of the group.

  "I know!" said Frank.
  "What now, Frank...," said Danny.  "Oh no, not stunt driving in Japan!"
  "Stunt driving?" said Rei.
  "It should be called death driving...," said Danny.
  Frank pulled out a lockpick from his backpack, went over to a truck,
picked the door lock, and hot wired the truck.
  "Don't you know that's illegal?!" said Mina.
  "So sue me!" said Frank
  "Guys, you don't want to know how much troble he gets in at home!"
exclaimed Danny.
  Frank floored it, did a 360, screeching wheels, and turned in.  "Everyone
in the back!" said Frank.  The girls and Danny sat in the front of the truck
bed while Darien kept to the back, so he would use his "force" to hurt
anyone.
  "Hold on, this'll be faster than Hurricain Serena!" yelled Danny.  The
trucked peeled out at about 85 miles an hour.  They were all holding on for
dear life...

  "Midnight!  Are you awake?" Moonlight asked.
  "Yes mother, I'm up," Midnight said.
  "Good.  Now, come here."
  The two cheetahmorphs walked into Selene's portal room.
  "Are you sending me home?" Midnight asked.
  "Yes, I must," Moonlight said.  "You must find Endymion and Selene, and
then activate this beacon, which will tell me to open the portal."
  "Why don't you just open it now?" Midnight asked.
  "First of all," Moonlight began, "It's powered by the person who opens
it.  The portal actually zaps the energy right from whoever activates it.
Neither one of us could keep it open for long.
  "Second, it can only be open for sixty seconds.  Selene made it that way
as a safety feature.  If someone just left it open, their energy would be
completely drained.
  "Third, we don't know who will be going into it, if anyone at all."
  "Okay, I understand," Midnight said.
  "Usually, we wouldn't be allowed to open the portal without Selene's
permission.  But of course, she isn't here.  And, this is an emergency.
When the time comes, you will activate a beacon from earth which will sound
an alarm here," Moonlight said.
  "And then what?" Midnight asked.
  "Endymion and Selene must enter it," Moonlight said.  "Now, step on the
magic circle.  I will open the portal."
  Midnight stepped on a circle in the middle of the room.  "Good-bye,
mother," she said.
  "Good-bye, my daughter," Moonlight said, opening the portal.  Midnight
disappeared into a pillar of light.

  North of Selene's temple, two ladies were skating through the skies.
  Serena straightened herself out.  She was dizzy after a minute of spinning
around in the air.
  "I think I still have a lot to learn about flying," Serena said.
  "There's one more lesson for you," Serenity said.  "Maybe two."
  "Are we almost there?"
  "I'd say we're about halfway there."
  "Mother, is this 'Diana' person related to us?"
  "In a sense."
  "What does that mean?"
  "You'll learn, in time."
  The two Lunarians continued skating through the air at ninety
miles-per-hour.

  East of Selene's Temple, a man and woman were hurrying down a road.
  "Eurydice, did you hear something?" Orpheus asked.
  "I think so," Eurydice.  "It sounded like a large boom."
  "We'd better hurry to Phoebe's palace."
  Just then, an arrow screamed through the air.  It landed right in front of
Orpheus and Eurydice, and exploded into a wall of stone.
  "Where did that come from?!" Orpheus said.
  "Look behind you," a voice said.
  Orpheus and Eurydice turned to see the twenty-or-so-foot tall Orion
standing right behind them.

  West of Selene's Temple, the messenger of the gods was humming softly to
himself.
  Hermes was fluttering gracefully through the air.  His winged sandals were
taking him swiftly to Luna's palace.  So far, he hadn't run into any
trouble.

  South of Selene's Temple, Artemis charged north, along with a group of one
thousand allies to back her up.
